The Indianapolis Colts elevated quarterback Chad Kelly to the 53-man roster on Saturday as starter Jacoby Brissett was downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Indianapolis Colts will officially be without their starting quarterback on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Rather than risk injury against a team with one win, they are holding out hope that he will be available for a stretch of three divisional games.

" Campbell suffered a fracture in his hand in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and is expected to miss an undetermined amount of time". He did limited work in practice this week, but the Colts didn't rule him out on Friday.

The Colts are playing it safe with Brissett.

Since becoming the Colts' starter in light of the shocking Andrew Luck retirement news, Brissett has been phenomenal. Last week, he threw for three touchdowns and 168 yards while also throwing an interception. The Colts (5-3) gave Hoyer extra reps in anticipation of a possible start against the Dolphins (1-7).

QB Jacoby Brissett has been downgraded to OUT.

In a clear hint of the decision to come, just minutes before the team announced Brissett was out, Indianapolis announced it had promoted reserve quarterback Chad Kelly to the active roster along with wide receiver Marcus Johnson. Colts also waived wide receiver Deon Cain and defensive tackle Kyle Peko.

It'll be exciting to see how Hoyer performs in his to start with start off considering the fact that 2017.

A win on Sunday would put catapult the Colts to first place in the AFC South.
