Darnold had the hot hand early with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Jamison Crowder and a zone-read touchdown run of his own.

For the third time in four games, the Giants spotted their opponent a 14-0 lead. After two dead plays, Jones hit veteran receiver Golden Tate on a short throw to the outside and then he did what he does best - gain yards after the catch. They finished off the Giants (2-8), as Darnold - cold in the second and third quarters - sparked the offense to 13 unanswered points. Bell ranks second on the team with 40 receptions.

Ficken's 35-yard field goal made it 34-27 with 7:36 remaining, and the defense held firm from there for the Jets. Darnold was 7 of 7 for 63 yards, including an 18-yard completion to Crowder on third-and-11 to help keep the possession alive.

His son may play for the New York Giants, but Alibay Barkley - the father of Saquon Barkley - is a Jets fan through and through.

The Giants failed to convert on a fourth-and-1, leaving the Jets with solid field position, but Gang Green was unable to connect on a 54-yard field goal, turning the ball back over to Big Blue.

Jones and Slayton connected again later in the quarter when Shurmur opted to go for it on fourth-and-4 from the Jets 39.

'Prepare to die' Trump adviser Stone texted witness, trial jury hears
This specific charade earned him a swift reprimand from the judge: "I know you're a comedian ... but this is serious". Stone also allegedly pressured Credico to plead the 5th and not cooperate with Congress and the Mueller investigation.

Unfortunately for the Giants, their point after attempt nightmares would persist as a poor snap led to a scramble for anything positive, but punter Riley Dixon was unable to connect with anyone in the endzone, leaving the Giants behind on the scoreboard, 14-13. On one designed bootleg rollout, he found wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to set-up a field goal attempt that would extend the Jets' lead.

On their second drive of the game, Daniel Jones pushed the Big Blue offense 75 yards down the field on eight plays, capping things off with a five-yard strike to fellow rookie Darius Slayton. It was Adams' second defensive TD of the season.

The Giants went for the 2-point conversion, but Tate was called for offensive pass interference. Although Jones racked up almost 300 yards passing to go along with four touchdowns, a lost fumble returned by Jets safety Jamal Adams for a touchdown was the Achilles heel for the Giants rookie - who fumbled two additional times - both recovered by the Giants. He was replaced by Eric Smith, who made his National Football League debut.

The Giants are on a bye while the Jets face the Redskins on the road.

With pressure building on the embattled coach, the Jets responded Sunday with a gutty, if not artistic, 34-27 victory against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
