With Chargers QB Philip Rivers coming off one of the worst two-game skids of his career after throwing a combined seven interceptions to Oakland and Kansas City, the Broncos may need some help from the rest of the defense in case those two can't play.

Los Angeles (4-7) is technically alive in the playoff race but it would likely require them to win their final five games and for the other contenders to lose out.

After a 20-3 loss at Buffalo, the Broncos return home Sunday to face their longtime AFC West rivals Los Angeles Chargers. It is a move the Chargers hope to not think about and hope to not make.

If Rivers is pulled on Sunday in favor of veteran backup Tyrod Taylor, it seems unlikely that the benching would continue in Week 14. In the first game of the 2019 series, the Broncos jumped out to a 17-0 lead by halftime before the Chargers narrowed the deficit to seven points in the fourth quarter. He seemed to hint that a quarterback change is a possibility if Rivers can't protect the football, though he said he does not want him to feel like he has to look over his shoulder.

Lynn wants the interceptions to go down, but he also wants Rivers to stay aggressive.

Lynn said as much publicly this week. Lynn believes that won't come up. I don't plan on having to make that decision. Most great athletes, they respond well. "I believe Philip is going to respond well".
