The Brisbane Heat have won their second consecutive WBBL title following a six-wicket win over the Adelaide Strikers on Sunday.

That simple message from Brisbane Heat captain Kirby Short has been the mantra which has lifted her team to back-to-back WBBL titles.

Camera IconFans show their support during the 2019 Women's Big Bash League Final match between the Brisbane Heat and the Adelaide Strikers at Allan Border Field.

While Johnson fell on the last ball of the over to give some relief to Devine, her 11-ball 27 had given the Heat the breathing space they needed to cruise to victory.

The New Zealander, named player of the tournament during the week and coming off her ninth half-century of the campaign in Saturday's semi-final win over Perth Scorchers, top-edged Prestwidge to deep third man in the second over of the day.

Devine, who has 764 runs from 15 innings, is just 14 runs behind Ellyse Perry's record of 777 for most runs in a single season.

"Sophie Devine, I think I might be crushing the girls out there", Harris said.

Ben Simmons energizes crowd with his second three-pointer of the season
He needs to do this against better teams! The most impressive note: he only needed 26 minutes to put up these career numbers. National Basketball Association superstar Ben Simmons has done it again, sink a three-point shot that is.

"Depends how she bats". If she goes out for a duck, I will not be. But, if she does a t-shirt, I'll probably have her jaw on the floor with awe.

"She's had a fantastic competition". She obviously played in this competition and it is really deserved.

"It'll be definitely a tough ask to beat the Strikers - they're a well-balanced team", she said.

Harris said the results of yesterday had set up a successful final between, according to her, the best teams in the tournament. Both teams did a relatively light job of their semi-finals.

The Scorchers were reduced to 3-23 early against the Strikers and, despite recovering somewhat to reach 7-126 off their 20 overs, Devine and Tahlia McGrath's (36) 79-run second-wicket stand ensured Adelaide made the target with 11 balls remaining. Josephine Dooley smashed an unbeaten 50 while Jess Duffin (44) and Georgia Wareham (22) made important contributions too. Beth Mooney and Maddy Green put on 69 runs for the opening wicket, with Green finding the fence regularly.

Molly Strano picked up 4-28 off her four overs but her efforts were in vain, with the Heat reaching 6-166 off the final ball of the 18th over.
