Military responds to reports of shooting at Pearl Harbor

HONOLULU, HI-Security forces have responded to reports of an active shooter at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Wednesday.

'The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. "Due to the ongoing security incident, access/gates to JBPHH are closed".

Hawaii News Now reported There were multiple victims, according to local news reports. The incident is said to have taken place at Drydock 2.

The alert was issued at 1:55 p.m. on Oahu.

Hawaii News Now reports the shooting has left at least three people injured, two of which are said to be critical.

The malware sample Promon analyzed was installed through several droppers apps and downloaders distributed on Google Play. Google's been good at rooting them out and removing them, but it is an ongoing battle, the researchers say.

Pearl Harbor is one of the Navy's major installations.

"I am hiding in my pantry at home, is the shooter near housing?" she wrote on Twitter.

A witness said he was at his desk when he heard loud pops, Hawaii News Now reports.

"I kind of recognised that as gunshots", said the witness, "and I looked out the window and saw three people on the ground". The shooter, who I assume was a sailor because he was in uniform, shot himself'.

KITV4 reports that a McDonalds near the base is also on lockdown.

The shipyard is across the harbor from Pearl Harbor National Memorial, which is set to observe 78 years after the attack by Japan which launched the USA into World War II. More than 2,300 Americans died in the attack on December 7, 1941.
