Panthers' Cam Newton plans to have foot surgery

Panthers Fire Coach Rivera

When looking at all of the struggles surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019, the Cowboys should have been able to build a strong lead within the division by now, yet they only hold a one-game lead at the moment over their rivals.

Former Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera believes he'll get another shot to coach in the NFL.

As the Panthers prepare to move on Ron Rivera, another part of the team's future is taking the next step forward.

"I get exhausted of hearing that we couldn't win three years in a row or two years in a row", Rivera added.

He's a far cry from Jay Gruden, and he has a heck of a better resume than Bill Callahan. "It doesn't mean I'll be better than anybody else, but it gives me perspective".

Even the biggest Gettleman supporter would have to admit that 2020 is a make or break year for the embattled GM, but bringing in a head coach that he's already had success with would undoubtedly make his long leash even longer.

During his tenure, Rivera won two AP NFL Coach of the Year awards, made a Super Bowl appearance, won back-to-back-to-back NFC South titles, and became the winningest coach in team history.

Kendall Jenner's Alleged Home Intruder Arrested For Trespassing
Kendall Jenner had yet another uninvited guest intrude her Hollywood Hills home last night, according to TMZ . He has been ordered to serve 30 days in county jail and will be on probation for three years.

There are some notable names the Panthers could hire, like Michigan's Jim Harbaugh, plus a former National Football League head coach in Mike McCarthy and a sitting National Football League head coach in the Cowboys' Jason Garrett.

Defensive Back Coach Perry Fewell will fill the spot as Interim Head Coach.

Quarterback Cam Newton will have surgery on his left foot next week. They finished the 2015 season with a 17-2 record, losing 24-10 to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

The legacies of Rivera and Newton have always been intertwined as both came to the Panthers in 2011. Newton noted "this one hurt deep" during an Instagram Story post (via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport).

If the Panthers were to release Newton before next season, they could save $19 million and would only incur $2 million in dead money. "I've just gotta get right".

Before suffering the foot injury, Newton missed only three starts in seven seasons. "I don't know what the fit will be until you get the opportunity to sit down and talk - you can look at the rosters, you can look at the ownership, but at the end of the day, it's going to be about the challenge".
