Before being launched into the social media spotlight, Ruiz appeared in episodes of the shows "Baby Daddy", "About a Boy" and "The Game".

In a press release to Deadline, Ruiz stated of the business: 'I used to be completely happy to simply accept a job alternative earlier this 12 months from Peloton and the group was pretty to work with. Although I'm an actress, I am not quite comfortable being in spotlight and I'm awful on social media. Though I'm an actress, I'm not fairly comfy being in highlight and I'm disgusting on social media. So to say I used to be shocked and overwhelmed by the eye this week (particularly the unfavourable) is an understatement'.

Ruiz had a moment of redemption when she was cast in an advertisement for Ryan Reynold's brand of spirits, Aviation Gin, a few days after the controversy. I am grateful to both Peloton and Aviation Gin for the work and give me the opportunity to do what I like to do.

When sharing the advert along with his followers, Reynolds tweeted: 'Train bike not included'.

The actress and model who starred in the now infamous Peloton holiday commercial is a happily married mother-of-two who once planned on becoming a teacher. After coming out of her daze, Ruiz tells her pals, "This gin is really smooth".

A friend of them tells him that he is safe here before three people start anew.

The commercial wraps up with a shot of Aviation Gin and a voice over of a character saying, 'You look great, by the way, ' a statement which is being seen as a dig at the the Peloton ad. However, I suppose there is some justice in the world because the Peloton's actions would have suffered a $ 942 million devaluation following the backlash of their "The Gift That Gives Back" advertisement.

But the Peloton attention has also landed her another role: an ad for Ryan Reynolds' Aviation Gin. In 50 seconds commercial, a man gives his wife - now known as the "woman Platoon" - an exercise bike as a gift. She then goes for her first ride, admitting she's "a little nervous, but excited".

In the ad, Ruiz documented her year-long fitness journey in a series of videos that she compiled into a thank you video for her husband.

Twitter users came out in droves to discuss the ad, mocking everything from its supposed message of a husband wanting his seemingly already-fit wife to lose weight to her being "nervous" about riding an indoor bike.

Peloton itself has maintained that the ad was misinterpreted on social media.

He concluded, "The aftermath of the commercial has left me with more questions than answers, and this is only half the story".

Despite the flood of social media criticism, Peloton is standing by the holiday commercial.
