A West Coast storm is expected to hammer everything from Seattle to south of Los Angeles, bringing feet of snow to areas that sit at 6,000 feet or higher. Another system is forecast to develop in the mid-Atlantic Sunday, moving into a nor'easter by Monday.

A long duration storm will bring a thump of snow before changing to a wintry mix to sleet in Boston to rain within the 95-corridor into Monday morning's commute.

The storm will linger over the state through Tuesday, the weather service said.

According to the forecast, the winter storm that brought snow and fierce winds to the Western and Great Plains states on Thanksgiving Day has been on the move to the east.

Duluth said its city staff would monitor Canal Park and other areas for potential flooding and close roadways if necessary.

Strong winds, heavy rain and strong thunderstorm are impacting some areas, as well, making travel extremely unsafe through the holiday weekend. The worst snow in the region will be north and west of NY that could get 6 to 12 inches and closer to a foot near Albany. Some parts of the Finger Lakes could get up to 15 inches of snow.

However, the storm is expected to "wind down" in the Midwest as the afternoon turns into the evening, according to another forecast from the NWS issued at 11:35 a.m. EST. On Sunday, the wind will be out of the north at 10-20 miles per hour.

All roads in and out of Casper were closed Saturday morning, including the entire 300-mile stretch of Interstate 25 in Wyoming.
