The "America's Got Talent" season 11 victor is making her debut in the acting world with a leading role in the new Disney+ film, "Stargirl".

As Stargirl asks in the trailer: "Don't you want the universe to hear you?"

For those who do not know, two projects arrive in early 2020 under the name of Stargirl. It is not this. Not to be confused with Stargirl The CW series, this Stargirl's based on the bestselling novel by Jerry Spinelli and stars singer/songer Grace VanderWaal in her movie debut. The screenplay was written by Kristin Hahn, Julia Hart and Jordan Horowitz. Their relationship is what kicks off this drama of transition to adulthood.

Disney+ Tops 30 Million Downloads
The launch is referred to by the report as "unprecedented" and was more than double the total for the next closest app, TikTok. As you would expect, Disney + was the most popular app in both the App Store and Google Play Store by a substantial margin.

Stargirl is directed by Julia Hart, who is best known for the underrated 2018 film Fast Color and 2016's Miss Stevens . He co-stars Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian) as Leo's mentor, Archie Brubaker.

"Stargirl" follows Leo (Graham Verchere) a highschool student whose trying to fit in, yet also discover who he is, like other highschoolers. He gets decent grades, is a member of the school's music band and has always been happy flying below the radar. Starring America's Got Talent victor Grace VanderWaal in her acting debut role as the titular character, the film will be available for streaming on March 13, exclusively on Disney+. Then, everything changes when he meets Stargirl Caraway (VanderWaal), a confident and colorful new student who stands out in a crowd. She is kind, finds magic in the mundane and touches the lives of others with the simplest of gestures. His eccentricities and contagious personality captivate Leo and the student body, and he quickly goes from being ignored and ridiculed to being accepted and praised, and then back, sending Leo to a roller coaster of emotions.
