Stan Kirsch, best known for playing the role of Richie Ryan on the TV series Highlander, died on January 11 due to apparent suicide, according to The Los Angeles Coroner's office.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Stan Kirsch, who played the immortal Richie Ryan on the show for six seasons, was found hanging in the bathroom by his wife.

Speaking on the Highlander Rewatched podcast, he said: "I was an actor when I was a little kid, ah, about four years old, in New York City, where I grew up". "He brought a sense of humor, kindness and youthful enthusiasm to the character of Richie Ryan".

Green later shared a post from her own Facebook page thanking those who have sent their love and support following her husband's death.

His death was also confirmed on the Facebook of his acting studio, Stan Kirsch Studios.

The note further added, "Stan was at a disadvantage compared to other actors portraying immortals on the series". I haven't been in a space to respond to the entire texts, calls, emails - however personal be taught or listened to each one in all them. Kristyn took on the Facebook webpage to thank lovers, fans, and people offering their condolences, stating,"I feel surrounded by love and'm forever thankful to each and every one of you". He was never able to have flashbacks from the 1800's or discuss how things were "back in his day".

In 2008 Stan and his Kristyn formed LA-based acting school Stan Kirsch Studios, where he worked as an acting coach.

The praise Kirsch received is for his performance as one of the show's more challenging roles.

The star played Richie Ryan in the fantasy sci-fi adventure show, a spin-off from the 1986 film.

The post was lengthy and concluded: "Every time we had the opportunity to catch up with Stan, he was nothing but kind, thoughtful and honest". It was a warm presence that will be missed.

Throughout his career, Kirsch appeared in various projects, including Friends, General Hospital and JAG.
