Fire services were called to a auto on fire at Trinity Terrace off the Clonliffe Road and during the incident human remains were discovered in the boot of the burning vehicle.

They were discovered on Trinity Terrace, off Clonliffe Avenue early this morning.

Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of human body parts in north Dublin.

The Dublin City Coroner has been notified, and the services of the state pathologist have been requested.
