FCS Championship James Madison rises up against NDSU dynasty

The 2020 NCAA Division I Football FCS Championship returns to Frisco, Texas as No. 1 North Dakota State and No. 2 James Madison meet at Toyota Stadium at noon ET, on ABC.

Enter Hendricks, who picked off quarterback Ben DiNucci on the goal line to essentially end the game and secure a third straight national championship for North Dakota State.

Despite his incredible performance, quarterback Trey Lance was named the game's most outstanding player, completing 6-of-10 passes for 72 yards with 30 carries for 160 yards and one touchdown.

Two U.S. Senators may represent opposing parties, but this weekend, there's a different rivalry they'll be focused on. "Trick plays; they'll probably tell you we out-physicaled them". DiNucci tossed Riley Stapleton a five-meter touchdown pass to end the ride.

The Bison have now won 37 consecutive games after capping their ideal (16-0) campaign in 2019-2020.

James Madison struck first, going ahead 7-0 midway through the first quarter after an opening drive that spanned 17 plays and 86 yards. Receiver Phoenix Sproles swept around and faked a reverse handoff before running 38 yards for a touchdown, and Hendricks lined up for an apparent field goal when he took the snap, then got up and ran to the end zone. Hendricks had a rush score of 20 meters to give the Bison a 21-10 lead. James Madison added a run before responding with a scoring run of 11 games and 46 meters.

"Obviously we didn't get the result we wanted today", James Madison coach Curt Cignetti said. Warner bison steaks from North Dakota. It's a great football team.
