Virgin Islands suit alleges decades-long abuse by Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein used database to keep track of his 'numerous' victims

The late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused and trafficked girls as young as 12 on his private Caribbean island until as recently as past year, a new lawsuit alleged Wednesday.

Epstein carried out "an expansive scheme of human trafficking and sexual abuse of young women" and concealed it with an elaborate scheme of entities, said George, who took office in April.

But at his last verification in July 2018, Epstein refused to permit investigators, assisted by US Marshals, to enter Little St. James beyond its dock, saying that the dock was his "front door", the lawsuit says.

The papers, filed by Virgin Islands' Attorney General Denise George, also allege that Epstein abused victims as recently as 2018 - expanding the scope of his abuse by 13 years.

The complaint said Mr Epstein kept a computerised database to track girls who could be sent to Little St James, which he bought in 1998 as "the ideal hideaway" to traffic them "for sexual servitude, child abuse and sexual assault".

In July, prosecutors charged Epstein with one count of sex trafficking of minors and another of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors in NY and Florida.

There, the victims were "deceptively subjected to sexual servitude, forced to engage in sexual acts and coerced into commercial sexual activity and forced labor", the lawsuit says.

He arranged to meet the law-enforcement officials at his office on the island of St. Thomas, the lawsuit says. Those victims were then forced to recruit others.

Google Phone app may get call recording feature soon
Google could be working on creating a more proper API for OEMs to hook into to provide call recording functionality of their own. Google is also reportedly planning to bring back call recording APIs but that's still for a future Android major update.

The lawsuit alleges that even after Epstein's August suicide in federal detention in NY, his associates "continued to conspire to prevent detection of the Epstein Enterprise's criminal wrongdoing and to prevent accountability".

Evidence cited in the complaint, including flight logs, allege that the crimes started at least in 2001 and carried on until 2019, a decade after he served time in a Palm Beach jail on charges of procuring a minor for prostitution, in a case involving a secretive plea deal.

The lawsuit seeks to confiscate hundreds of millions of dollars from Epstein's estate in the Virgin Islands, including private islands Little St. James and Great St. James, which the suit values at $86 million.

The two islands are estimated to be worth $86m.

He is also accused of using fake visas to traffic women and girls, several of them aspiring models, in and out of the island territory and using a computerised database in order to track his victims' movements on his island.

Epstein died on August 10 while being held in federal prison awaiting trial.

Epstein's legal permanent residence was registered to the Virgin Islands.
