Wendy Williams is catching some heat for making comments about Joaquin Phoenix's cleft palate on a recent episode of her daytime television talk show, The Wendy Williams Show.

Social media is not feeling Wendy Williams' latest gaffe.

The 55-year-old host kicked off her rant with a series of nice compliments, including that Phoenix had "piercing eyes", however, it took a turn for the worse when she started pulling at her face, mocking the actor's lip.

During the "Hot Topic" segment of "The Wendy Williams Show" on January 7, Williams revealed she found the "Joker" star "oddly attractive", noting that she even liked the actor's scar. "He's got one of those - what do you call it?"

Williams followed up her comment by hooking her finger over her top lip in order to imitate the somewhat common birth defect.

The Bombers linebacker and his son, Beau, were both born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate.

Adam Bighill, a Canadian professional football player who was born with a cleft lip and palate and whose infant son Beau was also born with the condition, has demanded an apology from Williams for the past five days.

"Waiting for @FOXTV and @BET to let @WendyWilliams [know] that her actions/comments towards the cleft community are not okay", Bighill, 31, wrote on Twitter, as a part of his campaign.

Williams also encouraged her viewers to learn more and support the cleft community. The 59-year-old English TV figure, Carol Vorderman, claimed she was an ambassador for the "Cleft Lip and Palate Association", and she wasn't happy with it either.

The fans and followers of the Joker star Joaquin Phoenix took social media by storm when Wendy Williams made a remark on his cleft lip.
