London Knights' Liam Foudy to make emergency NHL debut

Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Seth Jones underwent surgery to fix his injured ankle and is expected to be sidelined approximately eight to 10 weeks, the team announced Tuesday.

Jones incurred the injury during Saturday night's game with the Colorado Avalanche and was placed on injured reserve on Monday.

The Blue Jackets will sorely miss Jones, who leads the team in ice time per game (25:17) and has chipped in six goals and 30 points in 56 appearances. Look for fellow blue-liner Zach Werenski to be relied upon even more heavily over the next few months. Philadelphia is in the queue with 69 points in one game less and Carolina is just one step away from the Flyers with 67 points in 55 games. Since Jan. 1, they've posted the NHL's second-best record.

Five California evacuees test negative for coronavirus, return to Travis quarantine
LabCorp said on Thursday it has begun work on developing its own test for the coronavirus that has killed over 1,300 in China. This is the second evacuee from Wuhan, China, under quarantine at the base to test positive for novel coronavirus.

Lightning: 8-1-1, averaging 3.6 goals, 6.4 assists, 3.3 penalties and 6.6 penalty minutes while allowing two goals per game with a.933 save percentage.

In other Blue Jackets news, the team recalled London Knights co-captain Liam Foudy from the OHL on Monday on an emergency basis. A native of Scarborough, Ontario, he has represented Canada at several global competitions, including this year's IIHF World Junior Championship, where he picked up 3-1-4 in seven games and helped Canada capture the gold medal. The announcement came hours before the Blue Jackets face the surging Tampa Bay Lightning. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7:30 p.m.
