Pakistan Accuses America for Destabilising Region by Selling Air Defence System to India

"The decision of USA will have serious impact on the stability of the region", Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said at a weekly press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Islamabad on Thursday expressed concern over Washington's approval of the sale of an air defence system to New Delhi.

The FO spokesperson said the South Asia can not afford a race on weaponry among the nations.

"Defence relations between the United States and India are contributing to destabilisation of peace and security in South Asia... the sale of such sophisticated weapons (IADWS) to India will have security implications for Pakistan and the region", the spokesperson said during the weekly media briefing on Thursday. "It is therefore incumbent upon the global community to prevent further destabilization of the region".

Commenting on US President Donald Trump's maiden visit to India later this month, she said he offered mediation on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute on several occasions and "now was time to fulfill the promise".

Briefing media about the Erdogan's Pakistan visit, the FO spokesperson said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Pakistan today (Thursday) on a two-day official visit.

Foreign Office Spokesperson said Indian provocations are obviously created to divert global attraction from its state terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir as well as from Pakistan's ongoing successful efforts in countering terrorism and with respect to fulfillment of our obligations under FATF regime.

Pogba wants Juventus return - agent Mino Raiola
United's £160m price tag previous year was considered outlandish and the club may be forced to revise that figure. However, Pogba will only be content with the club when they face major national and European titles, says Raiola.

"The RSS-inspired BJP government's tactics have become all too predictable and are being called out and shamed even inside India", said the spokesperson. "Such provocations by the RSS-inspired Bharatia Janata Party government are created to distract the world attention from consistent human rights violations being carried out in Indian-held Kashmir", she said, and called upon the worldwide community to take notice of the situation as any irresponsible act by India can prove disastrous to regional peace and stability.

"While calling upon the worldwide community to beware of any such irresponsible and ill-considered step by the current Indian regime, Pakistan maintains an unwavering resolve to: (a) respond most effectively and immediately to any Indian provocation; and (b) continue our march on the path to national development and regional peace and stability", asserted the spokesperson.

She said we also hope that the US President will raise the matter during his visit to India. "Non-resolution of this dispute is one of the most destabilizing factors for peace and security in the region", she remarked.

"Pakistan urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire understanding; investigate these and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary", the statement said.

"India has turned occupied Kashmir into the world's biggest prison", said the FO spokesperson.

On support of other countries in voting on upcoming decision on Financial Action Task Force (FATF), she said, "We are always hopeful, always optimistic".
