Shaikh had been planning the terrorist plot for around two months before officer from Scotland Yard's counter terror unit moved in and arrested her.

Safiyya Shaikh, of Hayes, west London, went on a reconnaissance trip to scope out the London landmark and a hotel.

At the Old Bailey she admitted preparing an act of terrorism and will be sentenced in May.

She also shared terrorist documents via groups using the Telegram messaging app over the same period.

The defendant reportedly pledged allegiance to Daesh between August and October past year, in addition to spreading extremist propaganda on a Telegram group chat around the same time.

She was caught by two undercover police officers who were posing as husband and wife explosive experts.

The shipment, which is said to have originated in Toronto, Canada, was destined for Kenosha, Wisconsin. When CBP officers opened the package, it was found to contain a human brain in a clear mason jar.

The defendant, who wore a black robe, spoke quietly as she entered her guilty pleas before Mr Justice Sweeney at the Old Bailey.

The prosecutors also alleged that she handed two bags to an unknown person with the intention that they would fit explosives into them.

Justice Sweeney ordered pre-sentencing reports ahead of the 11 May sentencing, with further orders to file a psychiatric report in early April.

In an encrypted chat with an undercover officer last August, the defendant said that she would "rather die young and get to Jannah (paradise) quickest way possible".

Shaikh expressed a desire to target a church or somewhere "historical" on a day like Christmas or Easter to "kill more", the summary said.

On September 24 past year, she met the fake explosive expert's wife in Uxbridge to hand over her bags.
