Year-Old Faye Swetlik Found Dead, Investigators Treating Case as a Homicide

"We are now treating this case as a homicide". No arrests have been made as of Thursday afternoon. The man's death also was being investigating as a homicide, but it was unclear whether the deaths were related.

Cayce officials have not released details of her death.

As the search continues for missing 6-year-old Faye Swetlik, community members in Cayce are turning to prayer.

"It has been exactly 48 hours since #FayeSwetlik was last seen".

Swetlik was last seen around 3:44 p.m. Monday while playing in her front yard at Londonderry Lane in Cayce just off Highway 302 in the Churchill Heights neighborhood.

"We're waiting for her to bounce back in the room", they said.

For the past few days, Faye's grandmother, Ruth Collins (left with Faye and right), has been pleading to the public on social media for help with finding her granddaughter. The chief continued by saying that the little girl was loved by everyone who knew her including her teacher and fellow classmates at Springdale Elementary School, the SRO that works there, and her family. They said Faye loves to color and draw, and eat freeze-pops after school. Officials said she has a speech impediment and is lactose intolerant.

Faye, who has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, was last seen Monday afternoon. Antley said they've identified and spoken to the driver of the Chevy Trailblazer SUV, but investigators are still seeking information about the silver sedan.

The chief said that when Swetlik was last seen she had a black shirt on with the word "Peace" across it.
