The Jacksonville Jaguars are now trying former Cincinnati Bengals first-round draft pick Tyler Eifert in their latest effort to fix their tight end woes.

One former Notre Dame tight end has reportedly found a new National Football League team. The deal is reportedly for a two-year incentive-based contract but the figures are unknown.

Ex-Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert has found a new National Football League team (David Richard).

The key for Eifert will be his health as he's missed 53 of 112 games.

Eifert got some publicity last season for playing all 16 games - but he played just 45 percent of the snaps and had a quiet year. Last year, he totaled 43 catches for 436 yards and three touchdowns and accumulated a Pro Football Focus grade of 65.7. From 2016-18, he appeared in 14 games of a possible 48 games, limited by numerous injuries.

Eifert joins a Jaguars tight end group that features three second-year players, including 2019 third-rounder Josh Oliver.

The current tight ends on the roster have a combined 64 career catches - including 60 by James O'Shaughnessy, who is coming off a torn ACL.

Taken 21st by the Bengals in the 2013 NFL Draft, Eifert is hoping to be another kind of cat when he ventures to Jacksonville looking to continuing showing the skill he always has, but do so while avoiding injury. He was an All-American in 2011 and 2012.
