Sure, both games have a "battle royale" mode in which 100 players duke it out to the last man standing.

PUBG and Fortnite have competed for gamers' attention over the past several months, but now it appears the Battle Royale feud will be taken to the courtroom.

The Korean-based publisher of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds", Bluehole Inc., first hinted at litigation last September when a Bluehole vice president said the company was "concerned that "Fortnite" may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known". Epic Games even cited PUBG and its predecessor H1Z1: King of the Kill (made by the same lead designer as PUBG) as inspiration for Fortnite: Battle Royale. It filed a suit back in April against mobile developer NetEase, claiming two of its titles - "Rules of Survival" and "Knives Out" - copied "PUBG's" gameplay. Epic Games provides PUBG with its Unreal Engine technology, which was used to create PlayerUnknown's "Battlegrounds". Fortnite, seeing a similar scale of player base, was released in July of past year - but only featured a four-player co-op mode where players shot zombies. We have covered yesterday about leaks on the season 4 week 5 Fortnite Battle Pass Challenge list, so do check it out if you want to prepare before diving into the fight. "The Korean firm added that it was regrettable that Epic Games, which was a partner of Bluehole, had released a similar game".

Bethesda wants you to "Please Stand By"
Bethesda also tweeted the Please Stand By image on Twitter, a slogan which is extremely familiar to Fallout fans. There's no current indication that it is a new game, but it's certainly going to build hype around the idea.

On Tuesday, "PUBG" had around 27,000 viewers on streaming platform Twitch, about a tenth of "Fortnite's" 260,000.
