'Roseanne' Canceled by ABC After Roseanne Barr's 'Repugnant' Comments, Network President Says

Amid her massive racist tweet scandal that caused her show to be canceled by ABC, Roseanne Barr continues to retweet questionable things.

Donald Trump tweeted about Roseanne Barr, who just lost her show on ABC after a racist and anti-semitic meltdown on Twitter yesterday.

In another deleted tweet, Barr said of the incident that "it was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting". "I made a mistake I wish I hadn't.don't defend it please".

Barr blamed her late-night message on the sleep aid Ambien.

ABC responded by canceling her massively successful revival and its Emmy "For Your Consideration" campaign, while talent agency ICM dropped Barr as a client and Viacom networks Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT canceled upcoming reruns of the revival series.

Roseanne Barr never wanted to make a second season of her revived sitcom, according to her ex-husband Tom Arnold.

Four Russian soldiers killed in Syria
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least nine Russian and 26 Syrian troops were killed during the attack. At least four Russian combatants have been killed by militants in the eastern Syrian province of Deir al-Zour.

Barr, a prominent supporter of President Trump, retweeted an image questioning why some people thinkit's OK to ridicule him as an ape, but not Jarrett.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show", Dungey wrote in a statement released on Tuesday.

He said he doesn't know anything about Barr's tweets, including one that featured a racial slur against Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Obama. She also apologized to the many writers and actors who are now unemployed thanks to her incivility. "Not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted) but I've done weird stuff while on Ambien - cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc". I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks.

Barr also has a history of controversial statements that have been roundly criticized as racist, bigoted, or pushing conspiracy theories. "I'm anxious about the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers who come right to their defense".

Kelly Norman Ellis says she is teaching her students about the painful, historical context. Hulu said episodes of the new show would no longer be available on its streaming service. "As one source said to me, this was unsurvivable".
