Android users can now message from the web

The first signs of Messages for web were spotted back in February, when mentions of the service cropped up in the Android app.

The fifth and final addition to Android Messages is a new feature that lets you automatically copy one-time passwords and verification codes directly from a notification, which should make it easier to paste the password in later when you're logging into an app that uses texts as a form of two-factor authentication.

We knew it was coming, and today, Google has announced that its official SMS/messaging app Messages is now available on the web. Depending on how many messages you send with pictures and other large files, it could be a deal-breaker in some situations. The Android Messages web client is now live at messages.android.com, where you'll see a set of instructions and the large QR Code needed to pair your phone. The service has been launched by Google in order to compete with the iMessage service offered by rival Apple. Text, images, and stickers are all supported on the web version.

Russian Federation coach Cherchesov: We know how to stop Salah; Ramos...?
Edinson Cavani has revealed that he asked for Mohamed Salah's shirt because his children are fans of the Liverpool FC star. For me there's no shadow of a doubt there. "On top of being talented he is humble".

The new feature is reminiscent of what Google implemented with the now-abandoned instant messaging app, Google Allo. It has a Smart reply feature that suggests text or emoji responses to incoming texts.

Meanwhile, Google mentions in a support page, "Your latest conversation threads, contacts, and other settings will be encrypted and cached on your browser". You can tap the plus button on the left side of your compose bar to search for GIFs to add to your chat.

Very soon, you will be able to send SMSes straight from your desktop browser.
