Donald Trump is set to meet with Kim Jong Un

A USA delegation arrived in North Korea on Sunday for preparatory talks ahead of a potential meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Trump said on Sunday. USA officials said the most likely document would provide a framework for future negotiations, without going into great detail about what North Korea might be willing to give up or what steps the United States would take in exchange.

Pompeo has traveled to Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, twice in recent weeks for meetings with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and has said there is a "shared understanding" between the two sides about what they hope to achieve. "I truly believe North Korea has brilliant potential and will be a great economic and financial Nation one day".

Surprised Singaporeans pursued North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Sunday before realising the portly man with slick black hair near the Marina Bay Sands hotel was an impersonator.

"Solid response to my letter, thank you!" tweeted Trump.

Earlier the Washington Post reported that there is a slew of meetings to be conducted between the United States and North Korea about Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programme slated for next two days. That followed comments from North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, who said his country wouldn't "beg the US for dialogue" - and who called Vice President Mike Pence a "political dummy" for suggesting North Korea could end up like Libya if Kim Jong Un doesn't make a deal.

After the North's combative statements, there was debate inside the Trump administration about whether it marked a real turn to belligerence or a feint to see how far Kim Jong Un could push the U.S.in the lead-up to the talks.

A White House logistical group was also sent to Singapore on Sunday to prepare in case the summit takes place.

South Korea's Foreign Ministry said Washington and Pyongyang were engaging in "working-level" talks to arrange the possible summit, but said it could not confirm specifics.

"The United States continues to actively prepare for President Trump's expected summit with leader Kim in Singapore".

It remains unclear whom Kim Yong Chol would meet in the United States if he goes.

Robinett, the woman who started the petition, celebrated the removal of the game as a victory for those willing to speak up. One this is clear, however, and that is Valve refusing "to do business with people who act like this towards customers".

The newspaper quoted the officials as saying the Treasury Department had prepared a package aimed at almost three dozen sanction targets, including Russian and Chinese entities, and was prepared to announce the sanctions as soon as Tuesday but could shelve the plan at any moment. Moon said Trump's decision left him "perplexed" and was "very regrettable".

General Kim is one of several North Korean officials under USA sanctions, but State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said she was sure the U.S. had taken appropriate steps to allow him to visit NY unmolested.

Photos and footage of the meeting released by the presidential palace showed that Moon was accompanied by Suh Hoon, the chief of South Korea's National Intelligence Service spy agency.

Trump earlier said his country too was talking to North Korea about their summit.

They agreed to have their top officials meet again on June 1. He added that he will also discuss the summit cancellation with Putin.

But it wasn't immediately known what else he would do in the United States.

Kim Yong Chol is a vice chairman of the North Korean ruling party's central committee.

North Korea's flurry of diplomatic activity following a torrid run in nuclear weapons and missile tests in 2017 suggests that Kim Jong Un is eager for sanctions relief to build his economy and the worldwide legitimacy the summit with Trump would provide.

Following an unusually provocative 2017 in which Kim's engineers tested a purported thermonuclear warhead and three long-range missiles theoretically capable of striking mainland US cities, the North Korean leader has engaged in a flurry of diplomatic activity in recent months.
