Trump punches back at Robert De Niro

"I watched him last night and truly believe he may be 'punch-drunk'".

The Oscar-winning actor has starred in a number of boxing films, including Raging Bull, and he pulled no punches during the live television broadcast of Sunday night's Tony Awards. He delivered his response on his Twitter account while on his way back to the United States.

What did De Niro say exactly that would take away from the attention the president's historic summit received?

Robert De Niro introduces a performance by Bruce Springsteen at the 72nd annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in NY.

In fairness De Niro was pretty aggressive on the Tony stage, taking time away from the biggest awards show for Broadway with his curt, but pointed attack at the president.

Treasury slaps sanctions on firms aiding Russian Federation security service
Of particular interest are Embedi and ERPScan, who are both well known within the infosec community. The US has imposed another round of sanctions over Russian hacking.

While Trump didn't approve of De Niro's words, the audience sure did.

Others recalled De Niro's famous remark from the movie. He made it through University of Pennsylvania, so he was exposed to a quality education, but he's still an idiot'.

In probably the least surprising news ever, President Trump has responded to Robert De Niro's swipe at him from the stage of Sunday's Tony Awards.

Trump sent the tweets about De Niro from Air Force One as he returned from the meeting with Kim, according to CNN. "Wake up Punchy!" Trump wrote Wednesday morning, or Tuesday afternoon ET.

De Niro has been vocal of his disapproval of the Trump administration. On Monday, the actor apologized to Canadians for the "idiotic behavior of my president".
