They want people to donate so there are no blood types missing from hospital shelves.

"We're thrilled that these Mercedes Benz dealerships have stepped up to host this friendly blood drive competition as we kick off our summer blood collection season-a time when blood donations historically decrease because of vacations and schools being out of session", said Alana Mauger, communications manager, Red Cross Penn Jersey Blood Services Region. The American Red Cross is dropping the letters A, B and O from its logo.

World Blood Donor Day is an annual event celebrated every year on June 14 by the people in many countries around the world. "It's more than 40,000 patients who need blood each day which means half of us knows someone who received a blood transfusion", Jennifer Adrio, the CEO of the Red Cross Kentucky region, said. "We hope you will consider donating blood and helping touch lives as our family's lives were touched during my husband's illness".

Lily Dotson and her family know how serious blood shortages can be for patients.

Canadians are encouraged to remove As, Bs, and Os from their social media handles and posts, from blogs and websites, and in other creative ways to draw attention to the need for more blood donors.

Atletico Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann
Lemar, 22, has become a regular fixture in the France national team squad since making his worldwide debut in 2016. A statement on Atletico's website confirmed the clubs will work over the next few days to complete the transfer.

Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. You have the power to give them life!

Eligible donors can enter the drawing a second time when they register for a second donation during the blood drive period.

In fact, for the past four years, new Red Cross donors have declined by about 80,000 each year.

The Red Cross appreciates the support of its 18 lead partners who have joined the #MissingType campaign, including: Adobe, Anheuser-Busch, AvalonBay Communities, Inc., Domino's, Dropbox, Google, IBM, Land O'Lakes, Inc., Mastercard, Nationwide, Neiman Marcus, the New York Yankees, Oreo, PayPal, Salesforce, State Farm®, Sunoco and U.S. Bank. It features a free pancake breakfast and everyone who registers to donate will receive a "Vincent Strong" bracelet and the patriotic "Earn Your Stars and Stripes - Donate Blood" t-shirt. When blood products aren't available in emergency situations or those undergoing lifesaving treatments, patients like Jacqueline Rogers do notice. It was officially established by the organisation in May 2005 at the 58 World Health Assembly to motivate all the countries worldwide to thank the blood donors for their precious step, promote voluntary, safe and unpaid blood donations to ensure the sufficient blood supplies.

Additionally, a survey published by the Red Cross highlights misconceptions that hamper efforts to supply enough blood to hospitals and clinics that need it.
