Amazon's website crashes right as its Prime Day began
For what remains of Prime Day, Amazon is giving 20% off anything in its Warehouse to its Prime members. Problem is that Prime Day works on a series of "Lightning Deals" which are limited in time, quantity and have to be paid for within 15 minutes of putting them in your basket. Despite the litany of issues, Amazon said Tuesday that sales in the first 10 hours grew at a faster pace than during the same period of 2017's event.

Amazon created Prime Day in 2015 to mark its 20th anniversary, and its success has inspired other e-commerce companies to invent shopping holidays.
Rocco Braeuniger, Amazon Australia Country Manager, asserts local response to Prime "exceeded" expectations, with more member incentives to be rolled out soon.
