Chris Paul officially re-signs to Rockets

Anthony's decision to opt in to the final year of his contract for $28million all-but sealed his future away from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers and Rockets are considered more likely landing spots for Anthony than the Heat.

Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has re-signed free agent guard Chris Paul.

That's according to Yahoo Sports insider Jordan Schultz, who claims the race to sign Anthony is exclusively between the Lakers and the Rockets. They noted that OKC is exploring the trade market and will consider a buyout coupled with the stretch provision if no trade can be found.

Ronaldo Jerseys Go On Sale Outside Juventus' Stadium In Turin
Los Blancos have a new manager installed but Ronaldo has been strongly reported with a move out the exit door too. Buffon said it was those goals , and not Ronaldo potentially joining the club after his departure, that hurt.

The team was set to become the first team to cross the $300 million mark in salary and projected luxury tax commitments, and could reportedly save $100 million by parting ways with Melo. It was a bumpy season that ended with the Thunder being eliminated by the Utah Jazz in the opening round of the playoffs.

Playing third fiddle alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George, he shot 35.7 percent on three-pointers and averaged a career-low 16.2 points per game.

"However, he made a career-high 169 threes, so if he wants to come in and have catch-and-shoot opportunities, the Rockets might actually be the best fit".

The biggest question would be whether Anthony and D'Antoni could co-exist. After seven tumultuous seasons with the New York Knicks, Melo was forced out of town two years ago.
