Jurgen Klopp confirms Alisson Becker as Liverpool No.1

Klopp says he wants to give Alisson time to rest ahead of the new season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is pleased with his side's transfer activity in 2018 and insists that he will "do whatever it takes" to make the club successful.

When £100 million figures were suggested for Paul Pogba's transfer to Manchester United back in 2016, Klopp was outspoken with his opinion of the deal, stating: 'The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore'.

"That's the problem these days, hey?"

Keita says eight was always "special" for him as it was the number his father, who played at "a decent amateur level" in Guinea, wore - it was also that worn by ex-Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, the player he describes as his "overall favourite". "Whatever bulls-- you say, nobody will forget it". On the other side, it's still kind of true. Did I change my opinion? Yes.

Klopp held a press conference in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday evening and he was prepared to answer a question on his quote being dredged up now that his club could be accused of doing what he'd criticised just a couple of years ago.

Maharaj grabs nine but Proteas’ batting collapses again
Sri Lanka are without regular captain Dinesh Chandimal, who is suspended for the series over a ball tampering incident. Sri Lanka had resumed on day two on 277-9 and extended its first innings with a record 74-run, last-wicket stand.

Klopp added: "The world has changed completely".

"You need to respect contracts but if you are interested in a player you have to try and bring them in". I'll trust his decision and do what he wants me to do. "I would even do it differently if I could spend that money". "He told me what a great club this was and how the team was progressing and had great potential". When we are convinced about it then thank God our ownership believes that much in the project that they say "okay, let's do it". The other three are Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona, £97 million), Kylian Mbappe (Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain, £120 million) and Neymar (Barcelona to PSG, £198 million).

And for his efforts, Liverpool announced on Friday the Senegal global would wear the No. 10 shirt, which was last used by Philippe Coutinho before joining Barcelona in January.

Speaking after confirming the signing of Alisson Becker, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp stated that he does not expect the club to make any further signings this summer despite ongoing speculation.

The Brazil global became the club's fourth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri in moving to Merseyside.
