Every parent's nightmare is their kids being kidnapped. Before she returned, a man jumped into her vehicle and tried to drive away.

Booker-Hicks then ran back into the parking lot and got in the back seat of the auto, where her 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons were sitting, according to Fox4. Knowing that the police would not be able to help in her desperate time of need, she made a decision to act to protect her kids from the carjacker.

Booker-Hicks and her children were not injured.

As of now, police say there are no charges for Booker-Hicks.

Police say the woman jumped in the vehicle and told the suspect to stop.

"I wish I would've killed you, if I didn't already", she told KTVT when asked if she had a message for the suspect, who was hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

The suspect turned around and looked at the frantic mother - "with his eyes bugged" - but kept going, she said. When he did not, the woman pulled a gun from her glove box and shot the man once in the head.

The vehicle then crashed into a utility pole.

The man then swerved the SUV and crashed the vehicle into a nearby fence near a McDonald's. The hero mother and her kids were not hurt in the collision. He is now in the hospital, and is listed in serious but stable condition.

After he refused, she reached into the glove compartment to retrieve a handgun, and fired one shot at his face. "I'm not a killer, but I do believe in defending what's mine". "I didn't. I just wanted to give him a warning shot that was it", she told CBS 11.
