University of Louisville President Neeli Bendapudi has announced the university is renaming its football stadium to "Cardinal Stadium", removing the Papa John's sponsorship.

He also resigned as chairman from the pizza company after admitting the reports of him using a racial slur during an internal conference call were true.

U of L President Neeli Bendapudi said she made a decision to rename the stadium and also to remove Schnatter's name from the Center for Free Enterprise that Schnatter helped establish at U of L's College of Business in 2015 with a $4.6 million donation.

Now that he's not the chairman of the board of the company he founded, Schnatter's face is disappearing from all of Papa John's marketing materials. Papa John's is now scrubbing Schnatter's image from its packaging and marketing materials.

Schnatter's controversial comment came during a role-playing exercise during a May conference call, which itself was organized in the wake of his comments concerning the NFL, and placing blame on the league's national anthem protests for the company's sales, Forbes reported.

Behind President Trump's claim of new funding from North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members
Trump was greeted at the palace by May, whose government has been rocked by resignations from ongoing tumult over Brexit. He added: "I can you tell you that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation now is a really a fine-tuned machine.

Schnatter submitted his resignation Wednesday as a member of the university's board of trustees after Louisville National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) called for Schnatter to either step down or be removed from the board, according to the Courier-Journal. He apologized to her, adding that he didn't want to be a "distraction", she said.

"We understand that this comes with certain consequences and we have examined all of those, and this is our best decision to move forward", Bendapudi said.

Bendapudi did not comment on Schnatter's reaction to the stadium being renamed. He also spoke about his childhood in IN and said, there, people used to drag African-Americans from trucks until they died.

The Miami Marlins announced a similar plan on Thursday, with the Miami Herald reporting that the team was closing the Papa John's concession stand at its stadium as well as suspending a promotional deal with the brand, which gave customers 50% off pizza the day after the Marlins scored five or more runs.
