President Trump now says he worries Russian President Vladimir Putin is interfering with U.S. democracy — in order to help Democrats this fall

A majority of Americans think the Kremlin holds compromising leverage over President Donald Trump, according to a new poll taken after the president's cozy press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump offered no evidence for his claim that Russian Federation would look to help Democrats win in 2018 beyond claiming he has been tougher on Russian Federation than his predecessors.

The Kremlin aide declined to answer some questions concerning the Helsinki summit, including the question as to how persistent Trump was in raising the issue of Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 United States presidential election.

President Donald Trump said he's "very concerned" that Russian Federation will try to meddle in November's midterm elections to help Democrats win. "They definitely don't want Trump!" the US President wrote on Twitter. Though Moscow saw the Helsinki summit n the two leaders held last week as a success, the fiercely negative reaction by some us politicians to Trump's performance has taken some in Russian Federation aback. The summit was a success for Russian Federation, voters say 73 to 8 percent.

The US President himself argued if Russian Federation had compromising material then "it would have been out long ago".

Separately, Mr. Trump on Tuesday said on Twitter that he believed Russian Federation intends to sway the November U.S. congressional elections in favour of Democrats.

A bare majority of 51 per cent agreed that 'the Russian government has compromising information about President Trump, ' according to a new Quinnipiac University poll, taken following the Helsinki summit where Putin got asked point blank whether he held leverage over the US president.

Bronfman, who appeared in court wearing flip-flops and a T-shirt, didn't comment as she left a federal courthouse in Brooklyn. Bronfman and the other people arrested on Tuesday were not charged with sex trafficking .

McConnell declined to back up a tweet Trump sent Tuesday suggesting any potential Russian interference in the fall midterm elections would be created to favor Democrats. Gowdy also said Trump has regular access to Haley, secretary of state Mike Pompeo, FBI director Christopher Wray and national intelligence director Dan Coats.

"Well, I'd accept, I mean he's an expert".

Then on Tuesday, Trump issued a rare clarification and said he misspoke. "He's been doing a very good job".

Republicans overall still say they approve of the president, as do white evangelical Christian voters. I will tell you though, it better not be. "It better not be". "And how could the President have announced that he was inviting Putin to the United States without getting an acceptance behind the scenes first?" the New York Democrat said Tuesday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront".

Trump and Putin met in Helsinki a week ago behind closed doors, with no one else but their interpreters present.

The Helsinki summit between Trump and Putin was a failure for the USA, voters say 52 to 27 percent.
