That's a full 36 hours of deals for Prime members. If you go back two years ago, Amazon offered more than 100,000 deals on Prime Day. This is the second edition of Prime Day sale that the e-commerce giant will be hosting in the country. CNET's Dan Ackerman joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss what to expect from the big sale.

Some movies and TV shows will also have massive savings for Prime members, at 50% off. Amazon is even giving away a free PC game each day until July 18. Additionally, you can expect big savings on video games, consoles, gaming accessories, 4K TVs, other electronics, apparel, outdoor gear, baby products, and almost anything else you can buy at the online retailer. Granted, past year was the largest Prime Day event ever, racking up billions in sales, but the 2016 numbers also reiterated the conclusion - 77% of the deals were better, with 13% ties. Other than the annual subscription of Rs 999 a year, you can subscribe to Amazon Prime by paying just Rs 129 a month.

Amazon has released several teaser deals in preparation for the bigger discounts later on this evening, giving huge discounts to TVs, Smartphones, Cameras and many more goods. So they are incentivizing the makers of Wi-Fi connected lights, locks, thermostats and cameras to drop their process this Prime Day.

Prime Day is here and as expected, we're seeing many excellent deals on Amazon's hardware.

Prime Day, named for Amazon's $120-a-year Prime membership, begins Monday at 2 p.m. and lasts until midnight on Tuesday.
