Trump's Mar-a-Lago wants to hire 61 foreign workers

What Trump's Mar-A-Lago trips cost taxpayers

According to federal Department of Labor documents BuzzFeed first dug up yesterday, the Trump Organization has filed a request for 40 more foreign workers at Mar-a-Lago, the douchey villa he owns in Palm Beach that will hopefully be swallowed by the ocean one day soon. In order to obtain H-2Bs, employers must prove that there are not enough U.S. workers who are "able, willing, qualified, and available" to do the temporary work.

Trump's "Winter White House" has applied to hire 21 cooks from other countries to work at the resort from October to May.

The Mar-a-Lago Club has repeatedly used foreign workers in the past.

Rates for cooks start at $13.31 an hour, three cents less than past year. But the base salary for servers rose to $12.68 per hour this year from $11.88 per hour the year before.

Man who questioned black family's use of community pool loses job
What did Bloom's lawyer say? When police turned up, they quickly established that Edwards was perfectly entitled to use the pool. Bloom has resigned as pool chairman and as a Glenridge HOA board member after the incident, the report said.

The newspaper reported almost 300 USA workers had applied or been referred for jobs as waiters, waitresses, cooks and housekeepers but only 17 were hired.

In 2017, Trump urged employers to "hire American" in his inaugural address before turning around, raising the national cap on H-2 visas issued yearly, and then nearly immediately applying for 76 new foreign-worker jobs at Mar-a-Lago. Supporters say the program is necessary to keep American businesses afloat and allows seasonal businesses to operate at a greater capacity.

The increases in the numbers of foreign workers sought by Mar-a-Lago come at a time when the club's business model seems to be changing - transformed, by Trump's divisive politics from a club focused on charity galas to a GOP clubhouse frequented by Trump's friends and allies.

Other Trump-related businesses have also gone outside the U.S.to pad its seasonal work force. The Trump Winery in Charlottesville, Va., is looking for 23 H-2B visas.
