Trump White House is setting turnover records analysis shows

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders would not disclose any details about which four candidates the president interviewed Monday, including any names of the contenders he met with, but she did reveal that the president will look for "certain characteristics" he'd like his nominee to embody.

NBC journalist Andrea Mitchell called the tweets legally and ethically "questionable," and claimed the characterizations of the policies extolled by Warren and Harris were incorrect.

She also tried to capitalize financially on Trump's attack, asking supporters to sign on with her political organization. The Trump administration has shown little regard for such traditions and has not hesitated to use agencies' social media accounts to boost the president personally, such as when the White House instructed Cabinet officials to mark his 500th day in office and some responded with fawning tweets praising him. "Why are you supporting criminals moving weapons, drugs, and victims across our nation's borders?" claims another aimed at Warren. Trump has said repeatedly in recent days that he thinks immigration will be a potent issue for Republicans in this year's congressional elections.

Democrats, including Harris, Pelosi and Warren, have criticized Trump's policy of separating children from migrants and asylum seekers entering the country. ".@SenKamalaHarris, why are you supporting the animals of MS-13?"

Harris was attorney general of California and district attorney of San Francisco before she was elected to the Senate in 2016. "You must not know what ICE really does", the White House said.

Warren has called for the department's abolition, while Harris has said it needs wholesale changes to rethink its mission and tactics.

"Now, it is time to do what Americans overwhelmingly want: abolish the cruel, dysfunctional immigration system we have today and pass comprehensive immigration reform", Sanders said. There has been an uproar across much of the country over the administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy which led to the separation of more than 2,000 children from their parents since it was implemented in April. No plan to bring them back together.

Pocan was one of several lawmakers targeted by the White House over their stance on immigration. "Under my legislation, these responsibilities would be transferred to other agencies that already fight human trafficking".
