Ben Schwartz to Voice ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ in Upcoming Movie

Following a release date that is nearly a short year away, we've already got a full cast assembled for the live-action/CGI hybrid film.

Previously announced cast members include WestWorld and Hop's James Marsden along with Tika Sumpter who has featured in the likes of Gossip Girl and Law & Order. So Schwartz will mix right in with the action, though it's unknown which other voice actors will be cast in the film to portray Tails and potential other characters. While the premise of the movie isn't known yet, it's safe to assume that the super-fast blue animal will clash against the might of the evil Doctor Robotnik. Whether or not it lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but it's nice to see that Schwartz seems genuinely confident about the project. On top of that, this will not be the first character he voices.

'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' (Switch) Reveals New Characters, Stages, Modes And More
Players will be able to turn off hazards for each stage , allowing them to fight without the stage acting as an enemy too. The vampire hunter could be seen sporting his classic look/attire while he fended off demons and rival Smash characters.

Schwartz is not new to the voice acting game, now starring as Dewey Duck on the Disney Channel reboot of Duck Tales and will voice Leonardo in Nickelodeon's upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Meanwhile, the film will be produced by Deadpool director Tim Miller, along with Toby Ascher and Neal H. Moritz.
