The First Lady wears an nearly "naked" dress while accompanying her husband to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit.

First lady Melania Trump's parents have been sworn in as U.S. citizens.

Viktor, right, and Amalija Knavs arrive to take the oath of citizenship with their attorney Michael Wildes in New York, Thursday, August 9. She said the first lady's parents "are not part of the administration and deserve privacy".

Mr Wildes told CNN that as of February, the couple was living in the United States on green cards - a status that allows them to live and work in the U.S. indefinitely and paves the way for citizenship.

It is unclear when the Knavses moved to the US, but Viktor Knavs was recorded as living at Mar-a-Lago by late 2007, according to The Washington Post.

Gates Describes Manafort Orders While Defense Hammers 'Secret Life'
Vincent and the Grenadines and the United Kingdom revealed the accounts were connected to Manafort and his associates. He was so desperate, prosecutors say, that he allegedly falsified loan application documents to keep himself afloat.

Security guards and US Citizenship and Immigration Services workers in offices adorned with Donald Trump's portrait said they were unaware of anyone being sworn in there on Thursday.

Advocates for restricting legal immigration have pointed to the imbalance in favour of family connections as evidence of the need for reform, calling for a "merit-based" system that would choose immigrants based on need in the US.

Studies have shown, however, that immigrants have boosted the economy and commit crimes at lower rates than the native born.

He did not specify how long it had taken the Knavs to complete the citizenship process, nor whether the 48-year-old First Lady had sponsored their permanent residency.

However it's unclear whether their green cards were granted by a process the President has sought to end.

"I believe strongly in the principles of family reunification, which is a bedrock of immigration policy and law and has brought millions of people happily to our shores", Wildes said. "He and his administration are on a crusade to rid the country of immigrants, particularly immigrants of color".
