Gmail's new self-destructing emails are now rolling out to mobile devices

A report stated that Google was working on a new "confidential mode" feature in Gmail that would enable users to send emails that automatically expire.

Confidential mode for Android and iOS is rolling out now.

Even though being cautious can help keep your sensitive information out of harm's way, Google announced Confidential Mode at this year's Google I/O for Gmail. The receiver of a message marked confidential, whether it's an attachment or in the body of the email, will not be able to forward, copy, download, or print that content.

It's worth pointing out that if you send an email in confidential mode, any attachments that go along with it will be restricted as well. You can add Confidential settings to an email easily through the 3-dot menu in your app, and once "Confidential Mode" is selected you can set an expiration date, passcode and more. However, those who have malicious programs on their computer may still be able to copy or download your messages or attachments. At least, it'll be a valuable tool for the business world once Google launches the feature for G Suite, which hasn't happened yet.

Mass Overdose Leaves Connecticut Park Strewn with Dozens of Drugged-Out Victims
Police are still waiting for toxicology results, but believe the victims had been using synthetic marijuana - also known as K2. Three more overdoses were reported at the Green Tuesday night, but officials could not confirm whether they were related.

For users of the Gmail web client, Google's support page notes that confidential mode isn't available in the classic version of Gmail. For other Gmail users, these emails appear in Gmail like other messages.

To send a confidential email in the app, start composing a new email like you always have.
