Fowler held the lead at 5-under par following the morning wave and was asked about harnessing the emotions of Lyle's death while on the course.

Lyle ended his treatment in his third battle with cancer earlier this week. "I was lucky enough to be able to talk to him last Friday, so one thing that did help is hearing kind of from him how he felt". "At the same time, we have been blessed and overwhelmed with the messages and actions of support from around the world and feel comforted that Jarrod was able to happily impact so many people".

"He battled half his life, and the insane thing is he was always upbeat and positive", Day said. "You're trying to go out there and keep living life like he did, but it's unfortunate that he's not here with us".

His decision to end treatment last week prompted an outpouring of support from his golfing counterparts. "We'll be taking him closer to home in the next couple of days so he can finally leave the hospital". "He sounded like he was in a good spot".

"It has been enjoyable celebrating his life and we'll continue to do that".

The news has prompted tributes from friends and players, many referring to Lyle's characteristic "bucket hat".

JASON Day choked back tears while talking to reporters after his first round 67 at the 2018 PGA Championships.

More Than 400 Sickened In McDonald's Salad Outbreak
The outbreak involves Fresh Express items used in the McDonald's salads that were contaminated with the parasite Cyclospora. Last week, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a statement confirming 395 illnesses.

"I'm definitely happy about the start".

"He's a buddy, but he's not there anymore and he's never going to come back", said Day. "It's obviously heartbreaking to see".

Leishman recalled a young man who enjoyed giving the needle to his friends.

"He battled half his life". In 1999, when he was 17, he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

Woods, a 14-time major champion, has made a strong comeback from spinal fusion surgery, briefly leading in the final round of last month's British Open. "It's going to be a tough loss for all of us".

"We lost a great one today". There can be two different people can walk off in the same group thinking it's the hardest golf course in the world only because you may be on the wrong side of hitting it in the rough here or there because the rough is pretty thick, and a guy that's flushed it all day long thinking it's a really relatively easy golf course. His kids, without a dad.it's tough.

The 12-time US Tour victor has only bettered Thursday's driving display once, during the 2006 Barracuda Championship.
