The summer transfer window is drawing to a close and managers are working hard to secure last minute deals so we'll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe.

Jack Grealish appears unlikely to be allowed to leave Aston Villa this month after the club's new owners backed out of a deal to sell him to Tottenham, with Mauricio Pochettino's side having agreed to pay £25m for the England Under-21 worldwide.

It is understood that Spurs indicated they were willing to meet Villa's valuation of the midfielder earlier this week but were denied the opportunity to discuss personal terms with the 22-year-old after new executive chairman Nassef Sawiris informed them he was no longer for sale.

Nevertheless, Grealish does appear to be on his way out of Villa Park, and his appearance in Monday night's 3-1 win over Hull City had the feel of being his last game for the club.

Boss Steve Bruce has claimed Sawiris and Edens do not want to sell the club's prize asset, while admitting Villa are facing a "fraught" few days prior to Thursday's transfer deadline.

It remains to be seen whether Grealish looks to force the issue by handing in a transfer request in the next 24 hours. "He will want to play in the Premier League, Europe, Champions League". I don't want him to go but we'll just have to see what happens. But there's a human element within that, which we all understand There's a chance of Champions League football for him.

"The owners have publicly stated that they don't want him to leave".
