According to National Basketball Association insider Keith Smith, the New Orleans Pelicans' recent signing of Jahlil Okafor was a deal that was two years in the making.

The person spoke to The Associated Press Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the agreement has not been announced.

Okafor failed to make his mark in Brooklyn, and the team opted against offering him a new deal, thereby allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Qualcomm will announce its next chipset for wearables on September 10
But AI performance sounds like it has been given even more of a boost, with Qualcomm claiming that it's up to 1.8 times better. According to the manufacturer, the overall package will offer "twice the performance" of its Snapdragon 660 chip.

Okafor, the third overall pick in the 2015 National Basketball Association draft, will be joining his third team since December, when Philadelphia traded him to Brooklyn. The team undoubtedly hopes Okafor and Randle can fill the void DeMarcus Cousins' departure to the Golden State Warriors created.

Brooklyn, always seeking buy-low projects with ceilings, didn't work out either, with Okafor averaging 6.4 points and 2.9 rebounds playing 12.6 minutes per game.
