This Is Us Season 3 Casting

Michael Angarano is going from playing one Jack's son to another Jack's brother.

According to Deadline, I'm Dying Up Here star Michael Angarano has been cast as Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) little brother, who we believe died during the Vietnam War. He also appeared on The Knick and Mom.

In the final seconds of the This Is Us Season 2 finale, Kevin (Justin Hartley), along with his new girlfriend Zoe, were on a flight to Vietnam to find out more about his father's time there. In "The Car", Jack told Randall and Kevin that Nicky died in the war, notes Entertainment Weekly.

Ninja Explains Why He Doesn’t Play With Women on Stream
Despite his decision to not stream with female gamers, Ninja has said that he's not heard any sort of pushback from it. He believes that the only way to avoid gossip is to not play with female gamers at all.

To help make the Vietnam flashbacks feel more authentic, the writing staff has hired journalist and author Tim O'Brien, who's written a number of books related to his time in the Vietnam War, most notably The Things They Carried, as a consultant. "That's going to be really incredibly exciting and unusual". It's ambitious stuff. Here's the cool thing about it: At the end of season 3 when you go back and watch the beginning of the series, you're going to [be] like, 'Wow, it all works, ' but you never would see any of this coming.

"It's not what anyone is expecting", he said. As the new season dives further into what happened to Jack while he was overseas, the recurring appearance of Angarano's Nicky will show audiences a different side of the Pearson patriarch. "I am beyond grateful and very excited to be a part of this show - my grandmother even told her dentist", he wrote.

This Is Us Season 3 premieres Tuesday, September 25 at 9 PM on NBC.
