The PCB will be disappointed by the decision but they can't be blamed for putting the idea out.

"At the end of the day it came down to following the (government) advisory and the security reports we'd obtained", he added, saying, "there's no doubt they (Pakistan) are disappointed".

Commenting on the decision-making process, Barclay revealed that NZC has taken everything into consideration and believes that the right decision was made.

The chairman of NZC, Greg Barclay, clarified that they had to follow the security advice while taking the decision of travelling to Pakistan.

In April, West Indies became the first major side to tour Pakistan for a series since 2009, when a terrorist attack on the visiting Sri Lanka team triggered a drought of worldwide cricket in the country.

On the other hand, India's tour to New Zealand early next year, which will comprise five ODIs and three T20 Internationals, will start with the first One-day worldwide in Napier on January 23.

The Black Caps will host Sri Lanka and Bangladesh either side of the India series with two Tests against Sri Lanka in December (including a Boxing Day Test in Christchurch) and a three-Test series against Bangladesh in March with multiple T20s and ODIs planned as well.

In a first in New Zealand's cricket history, the women's matches will be televised. "They are good people, I know they understand the situation in which we took this decision", Barclay told Newshub.

Additionally, India A will also tour New Zealand to play three four-day games against New Zealand A at Mt Maunganui, Seddon Park and Cobham Oval and three 50-over fixtures, all at Bay Oval. The first ODI will be played at McLean Park, Napier on January 23 and last at Westpac Stadium, Wellington on February 3.
