'Not an easy time' for Chris Pratt after Gunn firing

James Gunn

James Gunn

Veteran comedian Jerry Seinfeld has weighed in on the James Gunn situation following the director's high profile firing from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

Seinfeld further explained his long-held belief that jokes are simply jokes and nothing more.

In them, he makes crude jokes involving rape and pedophilia that often nod to current events and pop culture.

"But any comedian that doesn't understand that dynamic, you're finished anyway", he added.

"Jokes are not real".

What do you think about what Pratt had to say? "It's purely comedic invention", he said. "That's just how I feel".

Kerala floods shut Kochi airport till Saturday
Cochin International Airport's official website showed that several flights had been diverted, cancelled and indefinitely delayed. Many moaned that they had lost virtually all their possessions after surging waters swept away whatever they possessed.

Gunn was sacked last month in the midst of San Diego Comic-Con after alt-right social media personalities compiled a list of old social media posts where the director made jokes about paedophilia, transmisogyny, and other topics that Disney deemed inappropriate.

Pratt also said that the news of James Gunn's removal from the Guardians of the Galaxy project affected his Comic-Con experience this year.

"I don't hear the laugh". What a frightful feeling it must be to have poured your soul into a book over a number of years and somebody comes up to you and goes, 'I loved your book, ' and they walk away, and you have no idea what worked and what didn't. It's a frightful performing interface. I can't think of a worse one.

And now Chris has discussed the "complicated situation" he and his castmates are in. In that time, we've been encouraged by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media who wish to see James reinstated as director of Volume 3 as well as discouraged by those so easily duped into believing the many outlandish conspiracy theories surrounding him.

"All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it and I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it".

Following an earlier report that stated a last ditch effort was in the works to bring back James Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy 3, now it's said Disney is standing firm on their original decision, which saw Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn, Kevin Feige's boss, release the following statement last month: "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him". All I can do now, beyond offering my honest and heartfelt regret, is to be the best human being I can be: accepting, understanding, committed to equality, and far more thoughtful about my public statements and my obligations to our public discourse.
