Sheffield United win race for Norwood

Sheffield United have signed Northern Ireland worldwide midfielder Oliver Norwood from Brighton.

The 27-year-old will initially move to Bramall Lane on loan before a two-and-a-half-year permanent contract is made active in January, when the transfer window reopens.

Norwood arrived at the Amex from Reading on the eve of the 2016-17 season.

Norwood has fallen down the pecking order at Brighton since their promotion to the Premier League in 2017, and was sent out on loan to Fulham for the 2017/18 season, where he won his second career promotion from the Championship.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland global leaves Brighton after 37 appearances in all competitions.

In contrast, the Turkish economy grew by 7.4 percent previous year - quicker than financial growth champions China and India. Washington's hostility against Ankara has fueled speculations that it would further push Turkey towards Russian Federation .

Norwood also revealed that the terms of the deal left him momentarily confused. "I didn't realise it was loan to permanent which is basically a permanent agreement anyway for the EFL".

A year earlier he helped Brighton to secure a Premier League place, but wasn't considered part of the club's plans and subsequently has joined Sheffield United.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton commented: "He is keen to play regular senior football".

Oliver Norwood was one of Hull City's main targets, and The Tigers had a number of bids turned down for the Northern Irishman, HullLive report.
