Rogic and Celtic's Champions League hopes take a hit

Celtic must produce "their best away European performance" under Brendan Rodgers to overcome AEK Athens, says former striker Scott McDonald.

Callum McGregor had fired Celtic in front in the 17th minute with a well-struck effort on the turn from a tight angle but AEK drew level a minute before the break through Viktor Klonaridis.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 57th minute when Konstantinos Galanopoulos picked up a second yellow card from the Italian referee Luca Banti for tripping James Forrest as he raced towards the penalty area. "Of course it swings to them as they are at home but we certainly know we have the quality to go and perform, after seeing that this evening".

"It was always going to be a hard game for us, at 1-0 up or 1-1, we always thought we would have to go there and score. But after that performance, I think we feel a lot more confident we can do that".

Australian worldwide Daniel Arzani is poised to sign a two year loan deal today, while Emilio Izaguirre will fly to Glasgow to seal return to the club as cover for Kieran Tierney.

'I think everyone was thinking the same thing at this stage past year, going out to Rosenborg and wondering if we could get a result knowing it was going to be tough out there. I don't see any reason why we can't do that again here.

Meanwhile, the film will be produced by Deadpool director Tim Miller, along with Toby Ascher and Neal H. On top of that, this will not be the first character he voices.

"If we had come in having not made the mistake for the goal and won 1-0, I would have been ecstatic with the performance at this stage of the season", Rodgers told Radio Scotland.

'We were in good control of the game and Athens were probably waiting and waiting to get to half time and regroup but obviously we conceded in the 44th minute.

It also includes a bit of insight into what we expect from each player, and what they can do to make the difference. I thought we really dominated that first period.

'The game didn't change much in the second half, whether it was ten men or 11 men.

It was the two energetic and enterprising home players who combined for the opening goal, Tierney again working himself into a good position inside the box and his pass was pounced on by McGregor, who swivelled and fired the ball low into the corner from 10 yards.

There will be concern about Celtic's chances of qualifying to the next round of the Champions League next week following the result and fans took to social media to slam one of their key men for his performance.
