The galleries at Bellerive Country Club for the PGA Championship were so thick that Gary Woodland's parents, Dan and Linda, weren't always able follow the flight of their son's golf ball as it tore off the tee boxes Friday morning. -Woods, in discussing why he changed shirts after two holes on a muggy day in St. Louis.

Tiger Woods returned to work Saturday morning as the storm-halted second round of the 100th PGA Championship resumed with the 14-time major victor seven strokes behind leader Gary Woodland. Tiger Woods birdied three of his first five holes played.

Woodland didn't drop as many putts in his second round, but triggered a huge roar from the crowd on No. 8, his second-to-last hole of the day.

"I don't really feel I have ever been in contention on a Sunday at the PGA, although I've had some good results", Scott said.

Storms halted play with half the field of 156 still on the course, the rain-soaked layout having surrendered three rounds Friday to rival the lowest in major golf history.

Brooks Koepka and Charl Schwartzel took advantage of ideal scoring conditions at Bellerive, as both players shot 63 to vault up the leaderboard at the PGA Championship.

That meant the 34-year-old American missed out on a record-equalling round of 63 like Koepka and Schwartzel.

It lead the Portuguese to vent his feelings after the final whistle at Old Trafford and reiterate his warning for the new season. He lasted 84 minutes before being replaced by Marouane Fellaini, with Mourinho describing his captain as a "monster".

Open Championship runner-up Kisner holed six birdies as he played his first nine holes in 29 shots to move into the lead on nine under, while Woodland avenged a bogey on the 14th with an eagle three on the par-five 17th. Rickie Fowler had just birdied the 10th hole and was at 7 under.

Low-hanging fog was still in the air as players warmed up on the driving range before the restart. He hit 8 of 9 greens on the back nine.

Fowler is the model's 6th highest rated golfer, estimated to be about 1 stroke better than Woodland per round.

"I feel safe where my game is", Woodland said. Fowler overcame an early bogey with three birdies through 10 holes.

Woods' back nine was more mixed as he suffered bogeys on 10 and 12, but the 14-time major victor countered that with two further birdies after hitting four on the front nine for a 66, which took him to four under overall. He reached the par-5 eighth hole in two shots and two-putted for a birdie to climb to four under and six shots off the pace.

"It's been 16 pars in a row from yesterday to today, so hopefully I can break that run in the morning", McIlroy said. "And when I stand over a golf ball putting as comfortable as I am right now, I'm pretty excited". Jordan Spieth is going for his career slam, while Justin Thomas is looking to continue his tremendous season by picking up his second-straight event victory.
