Star Trek Discovery Spock Ethan Peck Season 2
"We searched for months for an actor who would, like them, bring his own interpretation to the role", showrunner Alex Kurtzman said in a statement.
Set in the years before the original Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery made frequent reference to Spock in its first season.
Nimoy played Spock for three seasons of the original Trek and the sole season of the animated follow-up series, in a guest appearance on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in six theatrical films featuring the classic cast through 1991.
"Picking up on the half Vulcan and half human role portrayed by the late Leonard Nimoy in the original series and Zachary Quinto in the most recent big screen reboot, Ethan Peck will play Spock in Season 2 of Star Trek Discovery. An actor who would, like them, effortlessly embody Spock's greatest qualities, beyond obvious logic: empathy, intuition, compassion, confusion, and yearning", he continued.

Star Trek: Discovery's search for Spock is now over. "In that spirit, we're thrilled to welcome him to the family".
Adam Nimoy posted a photo of Peck, standing with Nimoy, Terry Farrell, Julie Nimoy, and David Knight. "It is an incomparable honor", Peck wrote.
Though he's following in the footsteps of two major actors, one of whom is universally considered Star Trek royalty, Peck appears to have the chops to pull off a solid performance considering his ample experience in television. The show's second season will go into further detail about the relationship between Burnham and her foster brother. "What I'm so excited about is that we have an opportunity to present a version of Spock that's both totally consistent with the Spock everyone knows but very, very different". The first season is now available on CBS All Access, CBS Network's digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service, and is distributed concurrently by CBS Studios International on Netflix in 188 countries and in Canada on Bell Media's Space channel and OTT service CraveTV.
Returning in 2019 on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, Mary Chieffo and Anson Mount.
