Trump calls on USA attorney-general to end Russian Federation probe ‘disgrace’

In our news wrap Wednesday, President Trump tweeted that Attorney General Jeff Sessions should put a stop to the special counsel's Russian Federation investigation.

Okay, so the hotel part isn't true, but Trump is seemingly desperate to put an end to the liberals' favorite witch hunt, which has already cost tax payers $16.7 million dollars over the course of the previous year.

Taking to Twitter to complain about the federal Russian Federation investigation, which focuses on the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump said Sessions "should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further".

Minutes later, he added: "Why aren't the 13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats investigating the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton". He also tried to distance himself from Paul Manafort, his former campaign chief, who Mr Mueller has charged with financial wrongdoing.

That is according to a person familiar with the conversation, who said Trump is considered a subject of Mueller's investigation - not a target.

"He's panicking", Democratic Representative Don Beyer said on Twitter. "Congress must protect Mueller".

The public request to his attorney general to stop a federal investigation is an extraordinary departure from traditional boundaries between the president and law enforcement. The attorney general has recused himself from the Russian Federation investigation because he played a role in Trump's presidential campaign.

"The president's not obstructing, he's fighting back", said Sanders, dismissing the idea Trump's tweets could be tantamount to obstruction of justice.

DR Congo announces fresh Ebola outbreak
Ebola is endemic in the DRC, which now has had 10 outbreaks since the virus first was discovered there in 1976. The average fatality rate is around 50 percent, varying from 25 percent to 90 percent, according to the WHO.

The White House sought to downplay Trump's call for shuttering the Russian Federation probe, however, saying that the president had been speaking in a personal capacity and not as the chief executive.

US intelligence agencies concluded a year ago that Moscow meddled in the 2016 presidential campaign to try to tip the vote in Trump's favour.

The Justice Department declined to comment on Trump's tweet.

"We should have had hearings in the House and Senate Judiciary Committees at the same time that Robert Mueller was hired", he continued. And asking him to do it publicly is a form of pressure, since of course the AG serves at the president's pleasure.

Trump made three tweets expressing exasperation with the ongoing investigation, as well as FBI agent Peter Strzok's recent congressional testimony.

"It's clear to me he's very anxious about it and he wants to prevent it any way he can", said Senator Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee.

Mr Trump said the charges against Mr Manafort "have nothing to do with Collusion".
