Australian actor John Jarratt strongly denies sexually assaulting a woman in Sydney during the 1970s, with his lawyer claiming the case will be easily won.

"Mate I'm fine because I'm innocent".

Eastern Beaches Police Area Command officers have been investigating the incident since December 2017 after the woman came forward about the alleged assault.

"She remained living at the house after the alleged rape and then went with them (Jarratt and his wife), as friends, to Queensland", Mr Murphy said.

Jarratt has previously denied the rape allegation.

"These allegations are completely unfounded and untrue", Ignite Elite Artists said in a statement.

"I think tomorrow, depending on the conditions, I'll have to be scoring a lot lower than I did today", she admitted. Henderson shot 66 on the first two days and had a 70 on Saturday, finishing with an overall total of 21-under 267.

"Because I'm a good man".

On Friday 66-year-old Wolf Creek star Mr Jarratt was issued with a notice to attend court in October.

Spicer later said more than 1600 women had contacted her, one of whom alleged John Jarratt sexually assaulted her in 1976.

Best known for his portrayal of pyschopathic serial killer Mick Taylor in Wolf Creek, Jarratt has been in the entertainment industry for nearly five decades.

He graduated from National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1973 and his school teacher encouraged him to pursue a career in acting. He also appeared in the 1975 Australian classic Picnic at Hanging Rock and Australia in 2008.
