Australians warned to cut up strawberries after people report finding needles inside

Several brands of strawberries have been withdrawn. "The contamination relates to what appears to be needles inserted in strawberries".

These brands are believed to be sold in stores in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory.

The statement added: "As the products have yet to be forensically examined, it is unknown if the contamination is related to the original Queensland incident or a copycat".

Certain brands have been removed from sale.

Coles said they had been in contact with Faugeras.

Ms Faugeras notified others of the discovery in a social media post on Thursday.

Three more punnets were found contaminated with needles on Friday, according to ABC Australia.

"I was shocked to see a pin sticking out of the one she bit and chose to squash the others in case and that's when we found two others".

Strawberry grower Jamie Michael, who is head of the WA Strawberry Growers Association, said WA was now in peak strawberry season, and the needle contamination could not have come at a worse time for the industry.

The 47-year-old actor also does a workout from 3:40-5:15 a.m., golf at 7:30 a.m., and "cryo-chamber recovery" at 9:30 a.m. This takes less time than his 9.30am cryotherapy, in which he spends an hour plunged in temperatures below -100C.

"We brought 2 punnets from Wingham Coles".

"With strawberries you need to continue picking them, if you stop picking them for a few days then they stop producing fruit, so we're trying to weather out this storm and hope that things get better, but to do that it's costing", he said. "Please be careful and crush them up before eating or just chuck them out".

She said the pins were the type a "tailor would use" and didn't go all the way through the strawberries, making them impossible to see unless you cut into one.

The spokesperson said: 'The safety of our customers is our priority and anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice'.

Six brands of strawberries grown in Queensland have been affected by the incident, in which the fruit was contaminated with sewing needles. Just phoned the school after a friend had warned me and the office ladies are onto it thank god.

Amalia Schermerleib comments, "OMG!"

On Thursday, Queensland police announced they were also investigating a suspected copycat incident after a metal rod was discovered on top of strawberries inside a plastic punnet at Coles in Gatton.

He says there is no link between the Donnybrook berry contamination and the Berry Obsession and Berry Licious cases.

The Donnybrook supplier owns three farms in south-east Queensland and supplies to both Coles and Woolworths.
